CTA Approved Additional Weekend Service for the Skokie Swift
Yellow Line
Beginning Sunday, March 30, 2008 the CTA (Chicago Transit Authority) Skokie
Swift Yellow Line will add weekend service. The CTA expects that by adding the
additional service, public transportation will become more convenient for those
who work or shop in the area and also reduce traffic congestion. The
additional weekend service will be evaluated after six months to determine if it
will become permanent.
The Skokie Swift Parking Lots will no longer be free on the
weekends during the Skokie Swift Yellow Line’s hours of operation. For $1.50,
patrons may park in the Village’s North Lot, which is located just north of
Dempster Street and accessible from Gross Point Road. The South Lot parking
costs $2.00 and is accessible from both Dempster Street and Niles Center Road.
